Bond NP Deluxe is the first production model of Bond Guitars. A versatile soldier which combines the old classics of the American guitar school with the latest technology and the demands of modern musicians.
The body of the guitar has a special design and is made of high quality hand-selected woods. The body is made of Ukrainian alder, the central toneblock is made of sapele (mahogany with dense texture and great tonal characteristics).
The neck and fingerboard in Bond NP Deluxe are made of American roasted flame maple. Open-gear locking tuners and bridge by Hipshot look simply stunning. A U-channel truss rod system is built into the neck for strength and reinforcement. The headstock is thicker and more compact than the usual one due to a lot of experiments with its size and configuration. These parameters significantly improve the tone and sustain of the guitar. Tuners are recessed into the face of the headstock on the front side. Together with the optimal string tension, these upgrades provide tuning stability and a unique "bright", "glassy" and at the same time "powerful" and "deep" sound.
The scale used in the Bond NP measures 25.25 inches. Its parameters are specially designed to provide a necessary action and enhance the control of the strings for playing bends and vibrato. It is suitable for normal and any drop tuning. The Bond NP has a two-octave neck with 24 Jescar USA n.s. jumbo frets.
To achieve crystal clear sound without hum, we wired three separate signal paths, similar to the early work of legandary Leo Fender. The volume control, tone control and the pickup switch are located close to hand so as not to disturb while playing. The guitar features two handwound Bare Knuckle Pickups humbuckers with Alnico V magnets. The neck pickup is inspired by well known P.A.F., and the bridge humbucker is its more overwound version. Potentiometers are CTS with Orange Drop capacitor and Pure Tone output jack.
Each pickup has a mode switch. These switches are not wired according to the classic Coil Split or Parallel scheme, but the special circuit by Bond Guitars. In one position, the pickups acts like classic humbuckers, in the other they act like silent single coils. This system is called Bond Trip Switch.
And the cherry on top: the Bond NP Deluxe finish is a patented technology. The properly sounding nitro paint is covered with a special acrylic coating, which protects the guitar from sunlight, dirt, dust and scratches. This finish has minimal effect on the sound, while the guitar always looks clean and tidy. It is almost impossible to leave fingerprints on this coating.
